New York Hotel chin chin buffet breakfast

This morning I woke feeling as if I could eat a small country, so as I have been staying in the New York New York hotel the first place I hit this morning was the chin chin buffet, this slam buffet area, usually serving Chinese fayre had a full breakfast offering on from 7am till 11am for $14.99

This has to be one of the smallest buffet offerings in vegas and indeed had a fairly limited offering of traditional US/UK breakfast and a few Chinese additions just  for good measure.

My first foray to the serving hatches resulted in the shovelling of lots of food onto my plate ( I think a trough might have been more use!) I grabbed some straky bacon, sausage, French toast and a couple of the Chinese bits for good measure, a spring roll and some amazingly delicious bbq pork. At the end of the serving hatch they had at least 10 types of syrup, this lead me to believe that we may also have pancakes stashed away somewhere, however after enquiring with the breakfast chef to my disappointment these were not to be had although I am still baffled as  to why they have all the types of syrup!

Everything on the plate was cooked to a good standard and I could not complain about anything and quickly finished off the plate, during the fist plate servers poured me 2 cups of coffee and a fresh orange juice all good and to my liking.

While reading the hotel magazine I discovered that the New York New York hotel uses an amazing 240,000lbs of coffee per year. This surely must be close on the GDP for some small countries!

After round one I could feel the belt starting to tighten a little however decided that I must go on. Purely for research purposes you understand!

2nd up I grabbed more of the BBQ pork, a couple of sausages and a bowl of fresh fruit covered on yoghurt.

As you know from earlier the BBQ pork was definitely the star, although a little odd for breakfast. I have to admit I have eaten leftover Chinese for breakfast on more than one occasion. I remember one time an ex girlfriend catching me delving into a chow mein one morning when my head was a little tender. She yelped out to me who the *&^% eats Chinese food for breakfast, to which I could only reply. Only half a billion Chinese people….. anyway back to the review

The fresh fruit was beautiful. Sweet juicy pineapple, tart strawberries and the ripest lynches I have tasted in a long time. I do think these were canned but delicious none the less.

I rounded off breakfast with 2 Danish pastries. 1 custard and one jam, both were fantastic and washed down with a last cup of coffee.

I then rolled myself to the elevator and had a good lie down!

In conclusion this is a great little buffet. They don’t have everything you would expect, like pancakes and hash browns but what they do have they do well.
