Fallen “Celebrity” cook John Burton Race has been banned from driving in the UK after wrestling police and for refusing to give a breath test..
Boozy Burton Race, 52, Drew the attention of UK Police over for driving erratically in his BMW on October 30 as he drove from his New Angel restaurant in Dartmouth. Boozy burton race refused to give a sample and also resisted arrest. It is reported he was asked 3 times before being arrested and taken to the local police station. He later gave a positive sample and was more than 1.5 times over the legal limit
He appeared today atNewton Abbot Magistrates Court, in Devon, where he pleaded guilty to driving with under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest
He was banned from driving for 14 months, fined £1,330 (€1,503) and ordered to pay costs of £100 (€113).
He will pay the money in £125 (€141) instalments as he is broke and cant pay his bills! He has recently been declared bankrupt after a divorce. The Michelin star chef was declared bankrupt last year following a multi-million pound divorce from wife Kim.
Burton Race has also been given the option to reduce his driving ban to 14 weeks by completing a drink-driving rehabilitation course.
Although he has been declared bankrupt he has appeared on numerous UK and Irish food shows in recent months where he has critiqued various amateur chefs.
