The Bodega @ St. Peter's Market is Cork's most elegant venue for eating, drinking and dancing, Housed in the St. Peter’s Market building in Cork’s historic Coal Quay, the Bodega has timeless appeal. This painting shows the limestone front of the former Saint Peter’s Market on Cornmarket Street. The market was opened in 1843. A portion of the premises near the North Main Street was used as a munitions factory during the First World War and later became part of the Lee Hosiery textile factory.The term “Bodega” is the Spanish term for “winery”.
